What a Day Looks Like
Skills for Everyday Life
Every day is built around each person's goals — a structured mix of learning, movement, creativity, and community.
Building Confidence
Through daily encouragement and structured activities, we help each individual recognize their strengths, take on new challenges, and develop the self-assurance to participate fully in their community.
Health and Safety
Our trained staff maintains a safe, welcoming environment where every individual can focus on growth. From sensory-friendly spaces to structured routines, health and well-being guide everything we do.
Music Relaxation Therapy
Music is a powerful tool for self-expression and stress relief. Our music therapy sessions help individuals regulate emotions, improve focus, and find calm — building coping skills they carry into everyday life.
Critical Thinking
Problem-solving games, group discussions, and hands-on projects sharpen decision-making and awareness — giving individuals the tools to navigate daily situations with greater independence.
Community Inclusion
From local outings to volunteer opportunities, our community-based activities teach real-world social skills and help individuals build meaningful connections beyond our doors.
Dance and Aerobics
Movement builds more than physical fitness — it builds confidence. Our dance and aerobics sessions get individuals active, energized, and smiling while improving coordination and overall wellness.
Job Skills
From workplace etiquette to task completion and teamwork, our vocational training prepares individuals with practical skills for employment and greater self-sufficiency.
Current Events
Staying informed builds confidence and connection. Our current events discussions help individuals understand the world around them and express their own perspectives.
Money Skills
Budgeting, counting change, understanding prices — our money management training gives individuals the financial literacy skills they need to make independent choices every day.
Physical Fitness Activities
Sports, group exercises, and active games keep individuals moving while building teamwork and healthy habits that support long-term well-being.
Recreational Activities
Arts and crafts, board games, sensory activities, and creative projects bring joy to the day while strengthening fine motor skills, focus, and social interaction.

What families say about Day Habilitation

"Serenity Day Program in Brick, New Jersey is one of the best day programs I would confidently recommend to my clients. The staff and director are absolutely amazing — attentive, compassionate, and genuinely invested in the people they serve. They take the time to understand each individual and truly know the small details that make a difference. The program offers a great balance of community-based activities and engaging on-site activities. The facility itself includes two large activity rooms, game room, computer room, sensory room, and much more, providing a welcoming and enriching environment. I highly recommend scheduling a tour and checking it out if you're searching for a supportive, well-rounded day program for your loved one."

"Serenity Day Habilitation is the best thing to happen for my son. After moving from FL two years ago, we found Serenity 10 months ago. He is happier than he has been for the past 2 years. My son especially likes the opportunity to go out into the community everyday. When he is not out and about, my son is busy with the many activities available. He enjoys being with his new friends. The staff is friendly and patient. April, the director, is very attentive. She genuinely cares about her clients. Because we are new to the program I have had questions. April has been available to answer my questions promptly. We are so glad we chose to be a part of the Serenity family."

"Would like to express gratitude and appreciation for the genuine care and support my daughter is receiving at Serenity. I felt very welcome speaking with April — she expressed great interest in my daughter — her strengths, passions, and personality. Serenity has an open door policy which speaks to the level of confidence in the staff — family can visit at any time! My daughter expresses every day that she is enjoying the community outings — she likes to have choices and variety, so much she added on a day! The drivers, DSP's, and center staff are always polite, they know who my daughter is when I call, and they are very happy — this speaks to the environment. Great job to April & her team for providing a safe and happy environment for our adults to grow and thrive."

"I can only say positive things about Serenity. The director April is really great with the parents, staff and clients. She makes leaving your adult child/family member effortless. My son is severely autistic (non verbal) and there are so many activities, celebrations, and outings that are offered daily. Ryan loves coming. The wonderful staff treats him and all participants with such patience and kindness. Serenity exposes him to opportunities and places I would never think he could do or like. I also am learning here too! If you are looking for a safe, caring and fun filled program look no further!"

"My son is very picky and he loves this program. He looks forward to go there. He comes home with smile on his face. They do arts, crafts, life skills and adventure out in community. Program director and staff has been amazing. They go above and beyond. When it was cold and icy outside during winter the driver and aide made sure my son got on and off the van safely. Made sure he got in the home and then they left. I would recommend this program to everyone that would ask me."

Very accommodating in every way, we have great communication with the management and the staff at all times. I often do pop in to see how things are going and everything is always being run so smoothly. We could not have asked for a better location for my daughter and she loves it there."
